Organizational structure

The organizational structure was presented at the Boston Summit in July 2022

GOVERNING BOARD

  • 1 President

  • 1 Vice-President

  • 1 representative per region (6)

  • 1 secretary (guest)

  • meets 4 times a year, more if needed

  • chaired by the President, and in his absence by the Vice-President

  • guarantees the link with IAJU

  • ensures the correct positioning / objectives of actions (task forces, projects, meetings)

  • validates all ongoing projects

  • note: the secretary participates but does not vote

OPERATIONAL COMMITTEE

  • 1 President

  • 1 Vice-President

  • 1 representative per task force

  • 1 representative per project

  • 1 secretary (guest)

  • offers 4 slots per year (presentations by task force/project leaders as needed)

  • chaired by the President, and in his absence by the Vice-President

  • sharing on the progress of actions (task forces, projects, meetings)

  • can propose the closing of an action or the opening of a new one

TASK FORCES

  • 1 leader

  • several IAJES members

  • the federating themes of IAJES are treated (validated by the Governing Board)

  • each group decides on its organization and the necessary means, in particular the rhythm of the team meetings which guarantees the progress of the actions

  • each group offers at least one webinar every two years and shares its results at the IAJES biennial meeting

PROJECTS

  • 1 leader

  • several IAJES members

  • particular and punctual themes are treated (validated by the Governing Board)

  • each group decides on its organization and the necessary means, in particular the rhythm of the team meetings which guarantees the progress of the actions

  • each group offers at least one webinar every two years and shares its results at the IAJES biennial meeting

Remarks:

  • Committees will be organized in a staggered fashion between the Governing Board and the Operational Committee

  • Types of projects that can be carried out over a given period of time: specific proposal for a new federating theme, improvement of communication (website, database, facebook, instagram, twitter...), inter-university challenge for students, specific proposal for a webinar, organization of the biennial meeting, reflection on financing, proposal for the evolution of the organizational structure, ...

  • The biennial meeting which allows, among other things, to welcome new members can be carried out in turn on the 6 regions identified by IAJU (International Association of Jesuit Universities)
