Mission - Vision - Priorities
You will find here a provisional expression of our mission, vision, and priorities.
MISSION AND PURPOSES OF IAJES
Our mission is to leverage our engineering schools and coordinate the mobilization to address the priority issues discerned by the Society of Jesus, in particular:
the third goal mentioned in the “IAJU Charter & Strategic plan” : "Promote awareness and a sense of urgency for an integrated economic and environmental justice through education, research and advocacy in all our schools"
the 4 Universal Apostolic Preferences
OUR GOALS
Contribute to humanize engineering, promote a new generation of engineers, scientists and researchers, deeply rooted and trained in the spirit of integral ecology [Laudato Si] and eager to include a radical ecological conversion in their professional, associative, and civic engagements.
Conduct community based research and action with a global perspective and through ambitious common projects in response to crucial issues towards a more integrated economic and environmental justice.
Sustain a worldwide community driven by a living sense of fellowship, belonging and solidarity.
IAJES FUNCTIONING PRINCIPLES
The network has to be seen as a multiplier effect and support for the local strategy and dynamism. And at the same time it will allow each engineering school to be involved in ambitious shared projects in a pro-active and participative way. The network will be associated to a living sense of fellowship and belonging to something bigger than one's own institution.
Participative, shared dynamism, mutual leverage and fellowship
Collective construction of the strategic vision, discernment and transparency
Exchanges Inter-culturally and nurture diversity
Striving to contribute to the key priorities of the Society of Jesus
Synergy with the other Jesuit works or networks as well as other partners
Genuine needs and ambitious goals, new scenarios and experimentation
Ressources (people, time, economics..) with acknowledged return on investment
